Whispers of Purpose, Flames of Intuition
There’s a fire, burning low and steady in the pit of my belly, not just a flicker of passion but something more—a quiet, unrelenting intuition. It doesn’t scream, it whispers, guiding me through life’s twists and turns, letting me know I’m moving in the right direction even when everything around me says otherwise. This is the fire we often speak of, the gut feeling—the divine sense that connects us, not just to our surroundings, but to time, to destiny, to everything that we are meant to become.
But here’s where it gets tricky: passion, for all its intensity, is easy to spot. It flares up quickly, commands attention, and is often mistaken for purpose. But passion is fleeting, like a flame that rises bright, only to burn out when faced with hardship. It’s unreliable, fickle. We’re often told to follow our hearts—it's an idea that sounds good in theory, a romantic notion we cling to when we’re young, but the heart is swayed easily. It knows what it wants, but only in the moment. When faced with something seemingly greater, or when the glitter of the world shines too brightly, it can falter, change course.
Purpose, on the other hand, is elusive. It’s not as easy to find as passion. It doesn’t present itself with the same urgency, nor does it make itself known in every season of life. Many live their entire lives never fully grasping what their purpose was, and that’s where the irony lies. While passion shouts, purpose whispers. It waits, buried beneath layers of distraction, hardship, and sometimes even fear. It’s often not what you do, but who you are—who you are to the people around you, and who you are when no one is watching. Your purpose could be in the way you love, the way you protect, the way you guide those who look to you. Perhaps your purpose is to be a steadfast friend, a nurturing mother, a guiding father, a watchful protector, an ancestor who changes the course of your descendants forever. Purpose isn’t always a grand, visible achievement; sometimes it’s the quiet impact you leave in the hearts of others.
And yet, the fire—this intuition—is what ties it all together. It’s the thread that connects your purpose to your life’s journey. That fire is God’s way of nudging you toward your destiny, of reminding you that no matter how lost you may feel, you are on the right path. But that fire, that intuition, is often dimmed by the noise of the world. We are bombarded by distractions—social media, politics, the latest trends—and in the midst of all this, that still small voice becomes harder to hear. It’s easy to mistake the world’s idea of success, the glitter and the noise, for what you truly want. But not everything that shines is meant for you.
Our paths are individual. The fire within burns for different reasons, but that flame isn’t fanned by the world’s approval. It burns because it is divine. It burns because it is uniquely yours. And yet, so many live without listening to it, or worse, they let it die out. To follow that fire means to break away from the crowd, to reject the notion that we must all follow the same path, chase the same dreams, or desire the same outcomes. It means listening, deeply, to that voice within, even when the world tells you you’re wrong.
And the heart? It’s not to be trusted, because passion can fail you. But intuition—that fire—remains. It’s what keeps you going when the road ahead is unclear, when the path becomes difficult. It tells you, “Keep going. You’re getting closer.” It’s God’s drum, a rhythm that only you can hear, guiding you forward when nothing else makes sense.
Purpose, once found, makes you unshakable. You can withstand life’s challenges, the moments when everything feels too heavy, too much. Because you’re not just fueled by fleeting passion—you’re driven by the deep knowledge that you are here for a reason, that your existence was written into the stars long before you were born. And it’s not just about standing tall when success finds you. It’s about staying humble, remembering that you are not above those around you. For as much as we are unique, as much as we are here for a divine purpose, we are still human, still in need of each other.
We are not here to walk alone. Our purpose ties us to those around us, to our families, our friends, and even to strangers. It’s what keeps us grounded, reminds us that no matter how far we go, we remain part of a larger whole. And in that, there is grace—a grace that allows us to make mistakes, to stumble, and still find our way back to that fire within.
So yes, the fire in my gut burns bright, guiding me forward. But it’s not passion that keeps me moving; it’s purpose—the unshakable knowing that I was made for something greater than myself. And with that comes a responsibility: to follow it, to trust it, and to play my role in this life to absolute perfection, no matter who stands in my way.
